About the Site
A website to introduce the Finnish metal bands to those who may not know them, or want to know more about them, and to have all of the important information on the bands in one place.
Each band has a page, and there is a link to their main website there, along with a list of members (and former members if any), and a discography. There is also a link to information on the city in Finland where they are from.
If anyone has photos that they have taken, and want them posted on the site, let me know, along with the proper credits. Also, if you want to review a CD or a concert, I can post that also.
Any band member associated with more than one band will be listed on the cross-reference page. There is also a page
of Finnish-related sites, pictures and information, and a page for birthdays and name days. I hope I can do the bands justice with this site - I'll try to keep up with the newer ones as I go, and the side projects, comings and goings of members, etc. I would love to hear from you -

About Me
I've been a music fan all my life, and I like all kinds.. I became a hard rock/heavy metal fan in the days of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, then Aerosmith, Van Halen, Alice Cooper and AC/DC. I sort of glossed over the "hair bands" of the 80s but have kept my love of the previously mentioned bands, along with Boston, Queen, ELP and ELO.
A while back my son discovered Slipknot and I realized that I really liked them a lot.. especially Joey - an amazing drummer. (I have always loved drums, and I was a huge Carl Palmer fan). This led to checking out other bands, followed by a Finnish friend (the above named Mikko) requesting that I check out the Finnish metal bands. Well, now I'm hooked! I am also of Finnish descent, so it was cool to find out about them (and be able to pronounce their names, even!) First was Apocalyptica, Nightwish and Children of Bodom, then Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius.. The rest I found on my own, never realizing there were SO MANY.. This is why I started this website - to introduce the bands to others, and to keep them all straight in my own head! Pam
